#1: First, install the VLC app from respective App store (Google Play Store or App Store).

#2: Connect your Chromecast and Android or iOS device to the same WiFi.

#3:  Open the VLC Media Player and play the media content you wish to Chromecast.

#4: VLC Player will appear with the Cast icon at the top of the screen.

#5: Tap the Cast icon and select your Chromecast device from the search results.

#6: Persistently, VLC screen will appear on the Chromecast connected big screen.

#7: To Stop Casting, again click on the b or close the VLC app.

You can adjust the Playback speed and settings in the way you like.

VLC App for Windows is not similar to Android and iOS, as it won’t have built-in Chromecast support. Still, you will be able to cast the VLC videos, for that, you will need to get VLC app 3.0 or later and requires Windows 10 or higher.

#1: Connect you Window 10 PC or laptop with the same WiFi, your Chromecast is connected.

#2: Launch the VLC Media Player on your Windows device.

#3: Click on the Playback tab at the top.

#4: Select Renderer from the drop down, and followed by that select Chromecast.

#6: Play the media file that you wish to Chromecast.

#7: If you wish to stop casting, Select Local from Renderer.

Alternative Ways to Chromecast VLC from Windows

In addition to direct way from VLC, you can Chromecast from Chrome Browser.

#1: Connect your Chromecast and Windows PC with the same WiFi.

#2: Open the Chrome Browser and click on the Menu icon at the top right of the screen.

#3: Select Cast option.

#4: Click the Sources tap, followed by select Cast desktop option.

#5: Next select your Chromecast device from the search results

#6: Then, select Share from the next screen to Chromecast your entire desktop screen.

#7: Once the casting is done, open the VLC media player and play your videos on the big screen.

If you are using VLC on Mac or Linux devices, you can follow the same instructions used for Windows PC. All you need is to have VLC 3.0 version for casting its contents.
